EVENT FILMING
CASE STUDIES
There's an art to distilling an event into a short video that delivers meaning and emotional impact.
It takes planning with the client ahead of time to be well prepared to capture sound and visuals on scene, and then crisp refinement in the editing room. It's always fulfilling to collaborate with clients throughout, from beginning stages to the final edit.
01
Empowering Diversity:
Panel of Speakers
Together with the emerging events and media company Empowering Diversity, I captured one of their networking events and panel discussions. The video ended up on the front page of their website, allowing people who missed the event to experience it, as well as attracting new attendees to upcoming events.

The Tyee:
Book Launch
I crafted this video for the Vancouver based online news publication: The Tyee, to celebrate their new book's release. The video was featured in an article that was published onto their site. The video allowed their faithful readers who could not attend the event to relive the festivities as well as advertise the new book hitting the shelves.

UBC:
Memorial and Journal Launch
UBC's department of educational studies put on an event with the purpose of commemorating and memorializing the life Indigenous studies professor Michael Marker. The video also served to bring attention to a new journal launch which featured a collection of decolonizing entries. The video ended up on the UBC website and allowed viewers a chance to relive the event and prompted them to check out the new journal.
